Little Sprouts

A Family Nourishment Education Program

Designed by Dr. Lenore Matthew to be piloted in 2027-2028, Little Sprouts: A Family Nourishment Education Program (FNEP) is a four-session program for mothers and toddlers (12–23 months). It aims to bring nutrition education to life through hands-on food choice and preparation activities, along with guidance on responsive feeding, helping parents tune in to their child’s hunger and fullness cues. The Tampa, Florida-based pilot will explore how families experience the program and how it shapes mothers’ confidence, knowledge, and feeding practices during this important window of early childhood.

This program is funded by the Reckitt/Mead Johnson Nutrition/Research Dietetic Practice Group Student Pilot Grant and is a first step toward a larger vision: a lifestyle medicine and family nutrition center dedicated to helping children and families build healthy, joyful habits from the very start.
